ResponsAbility Raises $106 Million for Climate-Focused Food and Agriculture Strategy

Climate-smart food systems is not a nice to have any more... it is an absolute MUST so that we can work on reversing the damage we have done by addressing climate change, reducing poverty, improving food security, and promoting environmental sustainability.

Climate-smart food systems refer to agricultural practices, policies, and strategies that aim to address the challenges of climate change while ensuring food security, improving nutrition, and promoting sustainable development. These food systems take into account the interconnectedness of agriculture, the environment, and society, and seek to minimize greenhouse gas emissions, increase resilience to climate impacts, and enhance the sustainable use of natural resources.

“Business as usual is no longer possible as emissions from the global food system alone could raise global temperatures by 1.5°C by 2050 and climate change puts the global food security at risk. Therefore, it is an absolute priority to transition to low-carbon and climate-resilient food systems. We have an opportunity to showcase that there are investable projects in this grossly unfunded space, leveraging responsibility’s experience of 20 years in this sector.”
