It´s a matter of days that the new regulation will be published in the EU Official Journal after being adopted by the EU Parliament on April 19th 2023. It will enter into force 20 days later. The main requirements will be applicable 18 months after the entry to force of the EUDR.

The authorities will be requiring corrective measures for non-compliances and there will be penalties.Fees can be 4% or even more of the turnover . Penalties will even consist of the commission publishing the name, date and a summary of the activities that violated the EUDR and the nature and amount of penalty set.

Where products present high risk of non-compliance, the competent authority may require immediate remedial action, including interim measures to prevent those products entering the market or informing customs authorities of the need to suspend the release of products for free circulation or export
