A recent resarch by the European Trade Union Institute shows that the number on accidents with fatal outcome is on the rise in Europe.
According to the European Trade Union Institute this most likely is being caused by the decrease of third-party safety checks being decided by the European Commission in their revised deregulation policy a decade ago. It is said, that business lobyists had some influence on reversing the policies at that time.
A focused move to increase workplace safety inspections could improve the situation.
