Sustainable Development Goals - are we on track?

The whole universe is full of sustainability programs, actions, companies and countries setting up targets, claiming that they are doing a great job...

The recent report from the UN General Assembly Economic and Social Council outlines that on the contrary we are far from the targets set in 2015 for 2030. "A preliminary assessment of the roughly 140 targets for which data is available shows that only about 12 per cent are on track; more than half, although showing some progress, are moderately or severely off track; and some 30 per cent have either seen no movement or regressed below the 2015 baseline."

It is in our interest to use every tool available to increase the speed of change, to better the situation on local, national and global scale and to commit sincerely and stop the green washing.

We can do better, and in moments of severe challenge, humanity has always come through. Now is another of those moments. The Sustainable Development Goals Summit, to be held in September 2023, must signal a genuine turning point. It must mobilize the political commitment and breakthroughs our world desperately needs. It must right the historic injustices at the core of the international financial system to give the most vulnerable countries and people
