Plastic bags recycled into fabric to fight pollution

Another promising effort to reduce plastic pollution by converting plastic bags into high-performance fabrics with a low environmental footprint.

The new fabric would allow fashion industry to go from trash to a high-performance garment with potential uses in both sports wear and high-end fashion.

It can be recycled multiple times and can be washed in cold water further reducing environmental impact. The challenge, as seems to be the case with many new fabrics, is how well it will meet customer's demand for comfort and feel. With plastic pollution being one of the leading environmental problems, I am truly wishing to see this new fabric succeed!

Scientists have made fabrics from polythene in a move they say could reduce plastic pollution and make the fashion industry more sustainable.
